Taking Part in National Workplace Wellbeing Day 2018

SL Controls is participating again this year in the National Workplace Wellbeing Day today, Friday 13 April. National Workplace Wellbeing Day is in its fourth consecutive year and as a registered participant, SL Controls will be among the large number of companies publicly showcasing our commitment to the wellbeing of staff. The day is on our Live Well at SL calendar of events and includes the following initiatives.

Lunchtime Exercise

Employees are invited to take part in a lunchtime walk/run.  Later today, our Wellbeing Champions will set a course around our local offices for our employees to walk, jog or run. Ireland’s national physical activity plan says we should do 30 minutes of physical exercise per day and completing a lunchtime mile can go a long way towards reaching that target.

There are many benefits associated with exercise during your work day including better concentration, increased mood, and improved mental and physical health.

Healthy Hampers/Goodie Bags

As part of our wellbeing programme Live Well at SL, we encourage a healthy and balanced diet. As a result, we are delivering healthy hampers to our four offices in Dublin, Sligo, Galway, and Limerick. The hampers include fruit, cereal bars, smoothies, nuts, and seeds. For our engineers working on client sites, we are delivering healthy goodie bags as an alternative.

Wellbeing Tips/Gym Information

As part of our #Let’sStaySafe campaign, our Health and Safety Officer is sharing tips and advice to stay healthy on our company Intranet, SLConnect. These tips include how to implement exercise into your daily routine, recommendations of free mindfulness apps, healthy office tips, and some nutritional advice.  We are also sending out a list of gyms/companies offering complementary or discounted services on Workplace Wellbeing Day.

We wish everyone a happy and healthy National Workplace Wellbeing Day for 2018.
