Role Brief
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- System architecture off both robotics and automation systems.
- Contribute to customer/vendor meetings and engagement.
- Make strategic decisions on a range of project requirements.
- Provide technical and automation operational support to Manufacturing and Facilities.
- Perform investigation of manufacturing deviations and anomalies related to automation and software.
- Work with OEM’s and clients to design and consult on projects related to corrective action or equipment performance improvement.
- Implement software/hardware changes and upgrades and understand the impact of actions to Manufacturing and Facilities.
- Programs PLC and HMI applications for automated process equipment and capable of troubleshooting and demonstrating knowledge of instrumentation and controls.
- Implements modification/change control procedures and protocols.
- Supports Validation Department with initial design review, software testing, and protocol review.
- FAT, SAT, commissioning & validation of high-speed automation equipment.
Skills Brief
- An experienced Senior Automation Engineer with at least 7 yrs experience with PLC and Robotics.
- The chosen candidate must have strong experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley automation systems and Subject Matter Expert (SME) level experience with PLC and HMI systems.
- Strong overall PLC experience at all stages of the automation process is essential.
- System architecture level experience in both robotics and automation systems.
- Proven knowledge and experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage: SCADA, Control Systems, Vision Systems
- GMP environment is a must and only candidates with this experience can and will be considered – Experience in Pharma, Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices manufacturing is an essential requirement.
- Strong vendor, OEM and client management experience.
- Proven experience in FAT, SAT, commissioning & validation of high-speed automation equipment.
Person Brief
To be considered for this role, as well as having a relevant Mechatronics, Electronics or other Engineering Degree, you must have at least 7 years experience and be at senior engineer level in the area of PLC and Robotics. You must have as a minimum 3 years experience in the GMP regulated space – Pharma, Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices – and you must be a strong stakeholder manager with exceptional communication skills and the proven ability to deliver on assigned tasks and projects.
This is an onsite role so you must be living within a reasonable commute of the Limerick site or able and willing to relocate within a short time frame.
