Role Brief
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Designing and developing HMI and SCADA systems according to project requirements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather user requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Configuring and programming HMI and SCADA software to ensure smooth operation and efficient data acquisition.
- Integrating HMI and SCADA systems with other control systems and ensuring seamless data exchange
- Conducting system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any issues or bugs.
- Creating and maintaining HMI and SCADA system documentation, including user manuals and technical specifications.
- Providing technical support and training to colleagues as required.
Skills Brief
- Strong knowledge of HMI and SCADA software, such as AVEVA System Platform IDE (ArchestrA Galaxy) (previously Wonderware) and Factory Talk View.
- The candidate must have strong experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley automation systems and Subject Matter Expert (SME) level experience with PLC and HIM systems.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining HMI and SCADA systems.
- GMP environment experience (Pharma, Biotech or Medical Devices manufacturing) is a must and only candidates with this experience can and will be considered.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in HMI SCADA systems, such as C#, Java, or VBScript and SQL knowledge.
- Strong Knowledge in Microsoft Server operating Systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC, Suitelink) and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and techniques for securing SCADA systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Person Brief
Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry, with at least 3 years experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices or life sciences manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.
As the role is designated as fully onsite you should be living within a reasonable commute of the Limerick area or willing and able to relocate before your start date.
