SL Controls Employees Compete in Step Challenge

SL Controls have linked up with the Irish Heart Foundation to run an employee Step Challenge. The Challenge will run for four weeks from 11 July to 8 August as part of the Live Well at SL programme.

SL Controls employees from across the company are participating by increasing their daily steps. During the Challenge, the aim is to reach at least 10,000 steps a day whether that is at work, at home, or at leisure.

To reduce the risk of getting heart disease and stroke, the Irish Heart Foundation recommends being active for at least 30 minutes at a moderate intensity five days a week.

We have 56 employees taking part in the challenge and have split them into eight teams. We have also given each participant a pedometer to record their steps.

The team names include Scrambled Legs, One Step Beyond, Step L Controls, and Stepimental.

If employees take part in daily activities such as jogging, dancing, swimming, or other sport, they can convert this activity into steps.

It’s just for fun, but we hope it will increase fitness levels and create healthy competition between all SL employees.

The team with the most steps after the four weeks of the Challenge will be declared the winner!
