SL Controls has been shortlisted in the Best Employer and Best CSR Organisation categories at this year’s Limerick Chamber Awards.
The Best Employer Award covers talent development and workplace wellness. It recognises companies that have set the highest standards in these areas and that have also demonstrated company-wide success.
The Best CSR, or Contribution to the Community Award recognises companies that have made a positive impact on the local community whether that is social, economic, environmental, or cultural.
Darragh McMorrow, Commercial Director at SL Controls, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted in both award categories.
“The professional development of our staff is one of our key priorities, particularly given the cutting-edge sector that we operate in and the high demands of our global clients.
“We are also committed at the highest levels of the company to workplace wellness. This is demonstrated through our Live Well at SL initiative, which promotes good physical health among our employees, and Think Well at SL, which promotes good workplace mental health.
“We are proud of our connection to the community here in Limerick too, whether that is donating to charity, taking part in awareness-raising events, or working with local schools and colleges. In the schools and colleges, we promote and encourage children and young people to consider pursuing a career in engineering, highlighting the opportunities that exist and the exciting technologies that our engineers at SL Controls get to work with.
“We don’t do these things to win awards, of course, but we are proud of being shortlisted and we are looking forward to the awards ceremony next month.”
The awards ceremony where the winners will be announced will take place on 15 November at the Limerick Strand Hotel.
