SL Controls has been shortlisted for a Sligo Chamber Excellence Award. The award we are up for is the Sligo Chamber Skillnet Award.
It recognises companies that invest in staff and demonstrate a commitment to upskilling and encouraging personal and professional development.
At SL Controls, we call our talent development programme Pathways. It has enabled members of staff to attend training courses in subjects and topics related to engineering and management as well as in other areas that are beneficial to SL Controls.
We have also launched the E-Cubers initiative to engage children with engineering and to encourage young people to consider an engineering career. While the initiative is broad, there is an emphasis on encouraging women to become engineers as women are currently underrepresented in the sector.
Darragh McMorrow, Commercial Director at SL Controls, said the training and upskilling of staff in SL Controls is a key part of our growth strategy.
Darragh said: “We work at the cutting-edge of manufacturing technologies delivering solutions to some of the largest companies in the world in sectors like pharmaceuticals and MedTech. As a result, the technologies, platforms, and processes we work with rapidly advance.
“Continuously upskilling and training our staff benefits the individual as well as our business, not least in our ability to constantly enhance the service we offer to customers.”
