The Role

Role Brief

The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a project that is focused on automation line for a medical device product.

The project will have a number of areas of responsibility including the install and commissioning of new equipment and working with OEMs and other vendors to ensure the successful set up, installation and integration of the new equipment as well as some work on existing equipment.

Skills Brief

  • The candidate must have strong experience with Allen Bradley PLC Systems
  • Proven knowledge and experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage: SCADA, Control Systems, Vision Systems
  • Pack equipment systems, Cognex and Serialisation experience – Some level of experience in all or any of these is highly advantageous but subject matter expert level experience is NOT required
  • Exposure to working with OEM’s, external vendors and internal client stakeholders is essential
  • Experience in the validation of automated processes for medical devices
  • Experience in implementation and troubleshooting of SQL database systems for real time process data collection is an advantage.
  • IT/Networking experience would be advantageous

Person Brief

Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in industry, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.

You should have strong experience with Allen Bradley PLC systems and exposure to the install and commission of new lines as well as a broad understanding of and experience with systems integration of a range of industrial automation systems typically used in the medical devices sector. Only candidates with proven experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments (Medical Devices, Pharma, Life Sciences) can be considered for this role.

The role is based in Athlone so you should be living within a reasonable commute of the area as the role is designated onsite.
