The Role

  • SCADA Engineer
  • Remote (Ireland) with occasional travel to mainland Europe (onsite for Commissioning and Qualification)
  • Contract/Permanent opportunity


Role Brief

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, commissioning, and support of a plant wide SCADA project. He/she will also be responsible for the development of the SCADA systems from  design, specification, programming, simulation, testing and start-up assistance. He/she will be required to work closely with Vendors and OEM’s to deliver the optimum solution for the client in a vendor package capacity. The candidate must possess the technical expertise to maintain, develop, troubleshoot, and validate these systems in a compliant manner.

While the role is predominately a remote working opportunity, the chosen candidate must be available to travel to mainland Europe.

Skills Brief

  • IGNITION SCADA platform engineering experience using the perspective module.
  • Database expertise using Microsoft SQL Server
  • OPC connectivity experience through Kepware
  • PLC programming experience in a platform such as Allen Bradley/Siemens is beneficial but not required
  • A strong understanding of networks and VLAN etc.
  • Development of user reports through SQL Data Tools/Power BI or Crystal reports beneficial
  • GMP environment experience.
  • Strong understanding of GMP standards.
  • Onsite experience of commissioning and qualification works.

Person Brief

Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.


The candidate should be ideally based in Ireland and able to work fully remote with some onsite visits as required.
