Role Brief

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, commissioning and support of automation and control systems. He/she will be part of an automation team responsible for day-to-day support of a wide variety of systems. They will also be responsible for identification, resolution, design, specification and programming of system improvements & fixes within a validated environment.  He/she will be required to work closely with Vendors and cross functional teams to deliver the optimum solution for the client in a vendor package capacity for existing and new equipment. The candidate must possess the technical expertise to maintain, develop, troubleshoot and validate these systems in a compliant manner.

Skills Brief

  • The candidate must have experience with Siemens TIA.
  • One or more of the following technologies is also an added advantage but not mandatory: Allen Bradley (Logix 5000), MES, OSI (PI)
  • Wonderware and Bosch an advantage but not essential
  • Proven knowledge and experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage: SCADA, Control Systems, Vision Systems
  • Knowledge in PLC and HMI programming of Siemens control systems
  • Experience in the validation of automated processes for medical devices or pharmaceuticals
  • Expertise in the development, improvement, and implementation of assembly automation solutions, robotics, and complex machine controls
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of multiple products or discipline
  • Experience in implementation and troubleshooting of SQL database systems for real time process data collection is an advantage.
  • IT/Networking experience would be advantageous

Person Brief

Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in industry, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.

The candidate should be based within a reasonable commute of the site location in Sligo as the role will be almost entirely onsite with limited remote working, only if appropriate and in line with project requirements.
