The Role

Role Brief

The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a project for a key SL Controls client.

The project will have a number of areas of responsibility including the install and commissioning & trouble shooting of new niche equipment and working with OEMs to ensure the successful set up, installation and integration of the new equipment.

Skills Brief

  • The candidate must have strong experience with Siemens PLC Systems, PLC programming and Siemens TIA portal
  • Significant experience with Cognex Vision systems are required
  • Experience in generation / execution of software test plans.
  • Experience in FAT, SAT, commissioning & validation of high-speed automation equipment
  • Proven knowledge and experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage: SCADA, Control Systems, Vision Systems
  • Exposure to working with OEM’s, external vendors and internal client stakeholders is essential
  • Experience in implementation and troubleshooting of SQL database systems for real time process data collection is an advantage.
  • IT/Networking experience would be advantageous

Person Brief

Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in industry, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.

You should have strong experience with Siemens PLC systems and exposure to the install and commissioning of new lines as well as a broad understanding of and experience with systems integration of a range of industrial automation systems typically used in the Life Sciences sector. Only candidates with proven experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments (Medical Devices, Pharma, Life Sciences) can be considered for this role.

The role is based in Donegal so you should be living within a reasonable commute of the area as the role is designated onsite. Candidates with a car/transport and a full clean driving license will be given preference due to public transport limitations in the area and the need for very occasional travel.
